Introduction
The World Bank estimates that between now and 2015 roughly half of the world's new building construction will take place in China. Many of the leading suppliers of high-performance building technologies and products are already present in China. It brings numerous business opportunities to China's and the world’s building industry. As the only premium comprehensive building show in China, Expo Build China has succeeded in preserving its reputation with 19 years of experience in organising construction products event. The 20th Expo Build China will be held from 9 to 12 April 2012 at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, Leading international brands are expected to join the show again to explore China’s market effectively, precisely and fruitfully. Expo Build China integrates the building industry with hotel supplies, furniture, cleaning materials, shop equipment and other related industries in a 200, 000-sq m venue, providing one-stop solutions to the building and hospitality industries. It is estimated that it will draw over 100, 000 global visitors consisting of industrial professionals, traders, agents, designers, architects, hotel owners and real estate developers. In the meantime, global marketing initiatives will be carried out to cement Expo Build China’s role as an internationally renowned show. UBM will use its global network to take Ecobuild to the new markets of Asia. A special showcasing area will be alongside Expo Build China, focusing on cutting-edge green building technologies and green building materials. Ecobuild is the world’s largest event for sustainable design and construction products. Over 1, 300 exhibitors, 750 speakers and 55, 000 visitors took part in Ecobuild 2011. UBM’s branches and agents around the world have joined forces to promote the show on local and regional media. The organiser also works together with consulates and overseas associations to bring professional visitors and set up international pavilions at the show. Such examples were found at Expo Build 2012 with pavilions from Spanish, Australian, Italian and Polish exhibitors.
