Introduction:
In the seventh edition of the "Kunsttage Sehnde", more than 50 artists meet in the Cooperative Gesamtschule on 18 and 19 March, presenting exquisite and traditional craftsmanship combined with trendy design. The focus is on the theme of gardening and decoration, colorful jewelery creations, textile accessories and Easter decorations. Gerhard Hühn from Sehnde has a very special hobby. The pensioner and lover of lighthouses has photographed these for many years from different perspectives. During a holiday, he came up with the idea of whether he could build it. From the most diverse materials, he now builds up almost every lighthouse in various formats and equips it with the classic signal lights. These eye-catchers not only fit into the home but also create a maritime flair in the garden and ensure a great light effect in the dark. The enthusiasm with the visitors is also ensured by the fact that artists from new and old materials create new ones. The so-called upcycling art is devoted to several artists during the art days. Charlotte Koch manufactures from old paper like maps and clay cardboard remains, individual boxes, "Inchie screens" and even paper chains. Also, coffee capsules, which are consumed, are converted into pendants, resulting in unique pieces of jewelery. Other eco-conscious trends are shown by artists in the transformation of textiles, wood, buttons or old family cutlery. The Roswitha Gehlhaar booth from Ilsede goes to the booth. During the art days, she presents hand-embroidered and painted Easter eggs. Your private house in Oberg is now known as an "Easter Egg House" and with regular guided tours visitors can admire more than a thousand decorated chickens, quail or ostrich eggs. In your workshop, she gives every egg so. An individual name label or a favorite motif of the visitors. For children Inge Heyn from Celle has prepared something to join in. Under instruction she invites to craft. With different materials like felt and wood owls, Easter bunny And small sets of natural materials, which visitors can take home with them at the same time. Many artists also give visitors an insight into the development of their products by looking over their shoulders while working on the spot. The filmmaker Annett Richter from Hanover, for example, demonstrates at her work table the creation of hand-sewn Waldorf dolls and cute felt animals. The other spectrum is very diverse, ranging from gestures, watercolor pictures, embroidery, wet felt objects, greeting cards, fabric animals and dolls to jewelery and ceramics for house and garden. After the cozy strolling and rummaging, the Künstlercafé invites you to relax with small food and drinks. Here more than 30 different cakes and cakes are available, which were baked by the exhibitors themselves. Location: Schulzentrum Sehnde (KGS) Address: Am Papenholz 11, 31319 Sehnde Date: 18.03.
