While the world is firmly focused on a green and renewable future, the actual reality is, it will remain heavily reliant on petroleum products and derivatives, such as liquid fuels and petrochemical feedstock, for the foreseeable future. From a downstream processing perspective, that means the Vacuum Gas Oil (VGO), or bottom of the barrel residues, remains a pressing challenge that refiners must overcome. At the same time, with the shift toward petrochemicals and chemicals, there will be new opportunities and new diverse revenue streams to explore and develop.
The 9th edition of BBTC MENA 2023 - Bottom of the Barrel & Catalyst Technology Conference, is back to help Middle East refiners address the challenges and identify the opportunities, as they aim to achieve higher levels of productivity, competitiveness, resilience & profitability through upgrading heavier lower value components and increasing conversion to curb low-value fuel oil production.
