This time, Made-in-China.com was in Japan.

Location: Japan
FaW TOKYO - FASHION WORLD TOKYO, Japan's largest international fashion trade show, organized by RX Japan, concluded successfully at TOKYO BIG SIGHT in Japan on April 7, 2023. During the three-day exhibition, a total of 22,814 professional buyers and 700+ suppliers from all over the world were attracted.

FaW TOKYO drew many famous companies and brands, such as Epson, Toyota Tsusho, Consinee, SUMEC and so on. It covers the latest sustainable products/materials, apparels, bags, shoes, accessories, fabrics/materials/textile accessories, and fashion digital technologies.

The exhibition is split into West Hall 1-2 and East Hall 7 at TOKYO BIG SIGHT. Among them, East Hall 7 is specially added for Chinese suppliers. In the post-pandemic era, the enthusiasm of Chinese suppliers to go abroad to explore business opportunities is very high, and the number of Chinese suppliers exhibiting at the event has increased drastically.

FaW TOKYO has six categories of exhibition halls, which are: Sustainable Fashion Expo; Fashion Digital Transformation Expo; Textile Expo; Japan Fashion Expo; Fashion Sourcing Expo and INT'L Fashion Brand Expo. Made-in-China.com set up a special booth in Fashion Digital Transformation Expo area S10-48, together with a number of Chinese quality suppliers, showing more than one hundred high-quality products made in China.

Green sustainability is not only as the main concept of this exhibition, but also a more popular trend in the Japanese market. Products made from recycled materials are everywhere, such as children's watches made from discarded toys, tootsie bags made from rice or wheat, and so on. Black Peony Group Import and Export Co., Ltd, a Chinese suppliers interviewed said, "We not only meet the needs of buyers in terms of quality, but also pursue the need to achieve energy saving and emission reduction from the source in the concept of sustainability".

The unique red color of Made-in-China.com, the rich and diverse samples from suppliers and the large electronic display attracted many buyers to stop by the booth and consult the services of the B2B platform leading to find products they wanted; on the other hand, suppliers actively receiving visitors, negotiated business opportunities and provided good service. During the exchange, we found that products such as one-piece suit that can promote recovery after liposuction, the waterproof backpack for laptop that supports USB interface, and the double-zip gated sleeping bag that makes diaper changing more convenient brought by our Chinese suppliers were well received by the onsite buyers.

A Japanese local buyer intended to purchase zipper pieces, clip pieces and other shoe and boot accessories. Since the exhibits at the offline exhibition were all finished shoes and boots, it was difficult to meet the procurement demand for accessories. After learning about this demand, the staff of Made-in-China.com immediately launched a sourcing inquiry on the platform, and the online Chinese supplier also gave timely feedback. The buyer said that online procurement is a good supplement to offline exhibition procurement, and the dual procurement mode of "Online + Offline" has improved the procurement efficiency.

In order to let Chinese suppliers and overseas buyers have a more intuitive experience of the exhibition site and get market information, Made-in-China.com also held a "Global Show Live Streaming" activity in Chinese and Japanese during the event. The Chinese live showed a full range of current fashion trends in Tokyo and visited the trend of the clothing, textile and luggage industry, allowing Chinese suppliers to learn about new industry products and market information without leaving home. During the live in Japanese, we teamed up with the popular Japanese social media LINE to carry out a live streaming with goods at the exhibition site, showing the exhibits to Japanese buyers who were not present at the exhibition site, and at the same time synchronizing the purchasing demand of buyers in the live to Chinese suppliers on the platform, so as to deepen the dual business opportunities of "Online + Offline".
