From Saigon to the Globe: Witnessing China's Intelligent Manufacturing Explore New Opportunities in ASEAN
Duration:
Jul 05 - 07, 2025
Location:
Vietnam
On July 5th, the 2025 MTA Vietnam exhibition successfully concluded at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC) in Ho Chi Minh City.
As the largest international exhibition for precision mechanical engineering and metalworking in the ASEAN region, it gathered over 500 exhibitors from 21 countries and regions, including mainland China, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan (China), and Thailand. These exhibitors showcased advanced technologies in metal processing and manufacturing from their respective regions, while 16,000+ professional buyers from ASEAN attended. The event is widely recognized as the most professional and largest exhibition for machine tools, precision engineering, and metalworking technology in Vietnam.
Centered around the theme of "Cutting-edge Machinery, Automation Technology, and Sustainable Manufacturing," this year's exhibition covered a total area of 13,200 square meters, aiming to drive the development of Vietnam's local industry. Chinese enterprises demonstrated their brand image and high-quality products in Vietnam, highlighting the advantages of China's various intelligent metal processing equipment and supporting products in global competition, and accelerating the entry of China's advanced machine tools and metal processing equipment into the Vietnamese market.
Over the 4-day exhibition, the booth of Made-in-China.com saw a constant stream of visitors. Professional buyers from Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Japan, South Korea, and other places came to consult and discuss cooperation. Through the model of online display combined with offline matchmaking, the platform helped Chinese suppliers accurately reach overseas customers and assisted local buyers in finding suitable Chinese suppliers.
Rapid Growth in Precision Machinery Market, Strong Demand for Upstream and Downstream Supporting Industries
As ASEAN's fastest-growing manufacturing hub, Vietnam is attracting in-depth 布局 of the global industrial chain. According to data from relevant institutions, imports account for as high as 75% of Vietnam's metal processing equipment and machinery products, with local manufacturing meeting only 25% of demand. As Vietnam's industrial production grows at an annual rate of 19%, imports of modern technologies also maintain rapid growth. In 2024, precision machinery accounted for a significant proportion of Vietnam's total machinery and equipment imports, with particularly strong demand for CNC machine tools, automated production lines, and high-precision measuring equipment.
Shifting Manufacturing to Vietnam as a Springboard to the Globe
Notably, amid intensified domestic market competition and risks from China-US trade frictions, more and more Chinese factories are investigating the Vietnamese market. At the exhibition, we received several Chinese suppliers exploring the Vietnamese market, who expressed hopes to use Vietnam as a springboard to expand their overseas business in Southeast Asia and rely on Vietnam's supply chain to avoid negative impacts of China-US trade frictions on their enterprises. Industrial infrastructure such as CNC machine tools and automated production lines have naturally become key inspection targets for these customers.
Although the global tariff disputes continue to impact the market, Vietnamese buyers, while watching for developments, have not lowered their expectations for China's high-end machining equipment.
This MTA Vietnam exhibition marks an important step for Made-in-China.com in deepening its presence in the ASEAN market. In the future, Made-in-China.com will continue to participate in exhibitions in more emerging market countries worldwide. Leveraging global promotion resources, multilingual support, and precise matching services, it will provide one-stop cross-border trade services for both buyers and sellers, including online promotion and communication, precise matching, cross-border logistics, and financial compliance. This will help more Chinese suppliers go global, tap into global business opportunities, and take the lead in the global transformation of industrial manufacturing.
