What Are 3,500+ Engineering Machinery Companies "Digging" for at bauma CHINA 2024?
Absolutely Worth the Participating!

From November 26 to 29, 2024, bauma CHINA made a grand return to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC) after four years. Covering a total exhibition area of over 330,000 square meters, the event attracted 280,000 visitors and featured 3,542 exhibitors from 32 countries and regions, showcasing the latest products and innovations in the construction machinery industry.

Showcasing the Core Strength of Chinese Manufacturing
At this year's bauma CHINA, leading Chinese manufacturers unveiled new products and demonstrated their strengths. Exhibits spanned 11 major sectors, including construction vehicles, earth-moving machinery, road machinery, lifting machinery, building material machines, mining material extraction and processing equipment, construction tools, formwork and scaffolding, transmission and fluid technology, components, and intelligent solutions. XCMG, for instance, showcased its globally largest-tonnage wheeled crane XCA4000, the world's largest rotary drilling rig XR2600F, and the world premiere of its 48-meter articulating boom lift XGA48K, fully displaying the evolving supply capabilities of Chinese enterprises in construction machinery and supporting infrastructure.

Data shows that China's registered construction machinery companies are primarily concentrated in provinces such as Hebei, Shandong, Jiangsu, Hunan, and Fujian. Representative publicly listed companies include XCMG, SANY, Zoomlion, CRCHI, and XGMA.

Manufacturing Trends: "Green" and "Smart"
Sustainability emerged as a central theme of this year's exhibition. From hybrid, electric, and hydrogen-powered solutions to comprehensive sustainable development strategies, innovations were on full display. Highlights included HELI's intelligent electric forklifts, ZOOMLION's unmanned excavators, and XCMG's remote operating cabins. Cutting-edge innovations made it apparent that digitalized construction operations are increasingly within reach.

According to the China Construction Machinery Industry Association, the first half of 2024 saw significant growth in electric construction machinery, such as loaders, forklifts, and aerial work platforms. With substantial advancements in battery, electric drive, and control system technologies, electric off-highway dump trucks, excavators, cranes, bulldozers, and concrete machinery have entered mass production and commercial use.

China's manufacturing industry is advancing rapidly into a phase of high-end, intelligent, and green development. Manufacturers are actively enhancing their core competencies in "new energy-driven" and "smart digital construction" to seize greater global opportunities.

A Strong International "Circle of Friends"
Official data indicates that this year’s exhibition featured 700 international brands, with national pavilions from countries such as Germany, Italy, and Turkey. The event attracted 281,488 professional visitors from 188 countries and regions, with overseas attendees accounting for more than 20% of the total.

During the four-day event, Made-in-China.com’ booth hosted over 100 international visitors from countries including India, Indonesia, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, the Philippines, Germany, France, Italy, Turkey, Mexico, Canada, Russia, Iran, and the UAE. Over 90% of these visitors traveled specifically to China to explore the latest technologies and products, seeking partnerships with suppliers. Buyers expressed particular interest in supplier authenticity, reliability, credibility, and delivery capabilities, including solutions for international logistics and customs clearance, customized production, consistent high-quality supply, and secure cross-border transactions.

Buyers also sought assistance from platforms like Made-in-China.com. Many demonstrated the ease of using the "Made in China" app for finding suppliers and products. Features such as 360° virtual factory tours, supplier certification reports, and qualification documents on display helped establish initial trust with potential partners.
