The event was attended by the Thai Pet Product Industry Association, the International Society of Canine Cosmetologists (ISCC), the Cat Grooming Certification & Competition 2024 (ISFC), Perfect Companion Group Co., Ltd., investors, businesspeople, and the media.
Ms. Kunwadee Jintavorn, Executive Director of Impact Exhibition Management Co., Ltd., has announced that the 14th Pet Fair, the largest annual pet exhibition of 2024, will be hosted by Impact Exhibition Management from October 3-6, 2024. The event is organized in collaboration with the Thai Pet Products Industry Association, Perfect Companion Group, and partner networks from China. Organized under the theme “PET RACING”, the event reflects competition in the B2B2C business aspect and strives to create opportunities for the pet industry to engage with pet owners in an exhibition through a variety show format. Additionally, the event offers business prospects through a Business Matching program and features various activities, exhibitions, and over 300 booths from leading international pet brands showcasing fashion, toys, supplies, food, and snacks. Free pet health check-ups will also be provided.
“The goal of this year's event is to highlight a diverse range of pet breeds in a B2B2C format, which is the first time this method has been used at the SmartHeart presents Thailand International Pet Variety Exhibition 2024. The event will be held in a 10, 000 square meter venue, and we are thrilled to welcome an exclusive partner from China, the Pet Sourcing China (PSC), as a co-exhibitor. There will also be a discussion forum to explore potential collaborative ventures in the Thai- Chinese pet sector. The registration for the event is free and we anticipate that this year's attendance will surpass that of last year, with over 150, 000 people and expected sales of at least 60 million baht, " said Ms. Kunwadee.
Ms. Kunwadee also highlighted a number of additional events during the event, all of which are free of charge. These include the "Dog Lick" and "Cat Lick" snack-eating contests, as well as the "Come to Mama" race, which allows both dogs and cats to demonstrate their abilities. International competitions will also take place, including the ISCC Association's first-ever dog grooming competition, the ISFC Association's cat grooming competition, SCFC's CFA-standard cat breed contest, and the RBA Association's bunny competition.
Visitors can also join seminars, talk with top rabbit farms, get free rabbit health exams, and compete in a rabbit health contest, all compliments of BunnyThailand Club. In addition, Cavy Thailand will host a guinea pig grooming competition. Additionally, the event will feature an Exotic Zone, showcasing rare animals like the Sphynx rat—the first-ever successfully bred by a Thai—and many other rare creatures.
Dr. Wachiraphon Sinthavathavorn, Director of Academic Activities at the Thai Pet Products Industry Association, discussed the current state of the pet product industry in Thailand. He noted that the market is highly competitive, particularly in terms of pricing and promotions. While new products continue to enter the market, the same group of pet food manufacturers, especially those offering OEM services, are now shifting to establish their brands. This has resulted in an imbalance, with supply exceeding demand, leading to market saturation and more choices for consumers. The fastest-growing product categories are snacks, supplements, and pet food. As a result, competition in the dry pet food segment has become quite fierce, and the number of animal hospitals is also increasing to accommodate the rising population of dogs and cats.
According to Mr. Yothana Chantrkeird, a board member of the Dog Grooming Competition (International Society of Canine Cosmetologists - ISCC), the event will include Thailand’s-first-ever International Dog Grooming Certification & Competitions. The association chose the Pet Variety event as the competition's venue due to its highly international nature. The ISCC has hosted competitions across Asia, Europe, and the Americas, using a scoring system to determine accreditation levels and identify the world's best groomers. The goal is to support the expansion of the dog and cat grooming industry without constraints, to meet the needs of the increasing pet population.
Mr. Supakrit Asvachaiporn, Senior Vice President of Customer Relations at Perfect Companion Group Co., Ltd., confirmed that the company is now focused on producing new goods to fulfill consumers' different needs in accordance with pet market trends. While retaining quality, they work to upgrade their products to meet market demands and client preferences. While their primary product categories are dog and cat food, they are also continuously developing and marketing other pet products, such as premium rabbit food (SmartHeart Gold Selection) and koi fish food (Optimum Hi-Pro), which enhances color and growth. At the 14th Pet Variety event, PCG will offer a broad variety of pet products at special prices, along with exciting promotions and entertaining activities for everyone to enjoy at the SmartHeart booth.
The biggest event of the year has arrived—don't miss it! Pet lovers and the public are welcomed to the 14th SmartHeart presents Thailand International Pet Variety Exhibition 2024, which will be held from October 3-6, 2024, at Halls 7-8, IMPACT Muang Thong Thani, from 10: 00 AM to 8: 00 PM.
