Mr. Duangdej Yuaikwarmdee, Deputy Managing Director said that the positive movements are happening in ASEAN’s automotive manufacturing industry. These movements indicate good heath of both the auto and supporting industries. And these movements are also happening in the neighboring countries such as Indonesia and Vietnam which are attracting more investment from giant car makers in order to possess the level of competitiveness that will yield success in the region, especially in the ASEAN Economic Community era. As seen from General Statistics, there was a significant increase in Vietnam’s Gross Domestic Product in 2013, with the electronics industry playing a key role in boosting the country’s economy. The high-tech exports were on the rise, increasing 21 percent and exporting to nearly 50 countries worldwide.
Reed Tradex has realized that with the Government’s supports, Vietnam’s supporting industries serving the automotive industry, electronics industry, etc., are advancing to become stronger and stronger in response to the local manufacturing sectors’ needs for industrial parts; especially the demands from Japanese manufacturers, one of the biggest investors of the country. And with the ASEAN Economic Community era looming on the horizon, Vietnam’s supporting industries have both challenges and opportunities to handle. Opportunities reside in new machinery, technologies, and knowledge.
With a view to help strengthening the industries with essential knowledge the industrialists can adopt to create a sharper competitive edge, Reed Tradex will join forces with Investment & Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC) and Japan External Trade Organization, Ho Chi Minh Office (JETRO) to organize Vietnam Supporting Industries Forum #10 on Thursday 22 May 2014, 13.00 – 16.00 hrs. at Grand Origami Ballroom, Hotel Nikko Saigon HCMC under the theme of “How to Develop Vietnamese Supporting Industries: Sharing the Best Practices – The Guideline for your Sustainable Success” as Supporting industries play a key role in promoting the development of Vietnam’s main industries, since if this sector remains undeveloped, large foreign-invested manufacturing and assembling companies will leave Vietnam on default of local supplies. Therefore, the government’s supports are needed, while the private sectors should drive the collaboration in building up the network, and help develop the supporting industries to cover the value chains.
In this forum will offer visions, best practices and experiences by government and private sectors to keep updated readiness for business opportunities and business development of Vietnamese Industries, and to be the guideline building up the sustainable growth of Vietnamese Industries through the strong network and collaboration of Supporting Industries. Vietnamese manufacturers will get idea regarding what to do to upgrade their products to meet Japanese manufacturers’ quality standards and get guidelines on how to improve Vietnam’s supporting industries.
“We would like to encourage Vietnamese executives from Manufacturing Industries and Supporting Industries sector, and Japanese executives from Manufacturing Industries sector to attend this forum to update on how to make production meet stringent quality requirements from Japanese buyers, to get an insight into policy and supporting scheme to secure and increase Japanese investment and to learn and understand how to reach Japanese Production Standard and QC system.” Mr. Duangdej concluded.
