Four Mega Exhibitions continue to attract thousands of industrialists

HCMC, October 2016 - The latest edition of four mega exhibitions “METALEX Vietnam 2016,” “Business Alliance 2016 for Supporting Industry,” “NEPCON Vietnam 2016,” and “Industrial Components & Subcontracting Vietnam 2016” was once again a resounding success. There are 18,637 enthusiastic manufacturing industrialists passed through the turnstiles at this major celebration, which was held from October 6 to 8. During this 2016 edition of the Show, visitors had a chance to meet, speak with and gain invaluable insight from more than 500 industrialist exhibitors, partners and experts.

The four events hosted 3,139 exhibitors using more than 500 booths, 11 international pavilions that brought steady growth over last year's event and spotlighted the influence of Vietnam's industry and its product appeal across the region. 18,637 trade visitors from 48 different countries came to collect information on the in-trend business opportunities. The growth of visitors from the Europe and America was especially evident as Vietnam's new opportunity and investment began to kick in.
    
Mr. Isara Burintramart, Managing Director of Reed Tradex Co., Ltd. said that “We selected Vietnam not only for being Asia’s top destination for investment but also for its growing role as a manufacturing hub. Industrialists know that opportunities are here, and they will need to move quickly no matter how rapidly the changing business environment may be. I believe the powers of 4 events combine will not only foster better collaboration and communication between industrialists but will also encourage the exchange of best practices among local and overseas business delegates”.

After one glorious day of showing the great performance of all high precision spin tops which was made from high-tech CNC machine, “Koma Taisen” Competition announced the new champion, Ba Ria-Vung Tau Province Vocational College, Team 2. The arena was packed with industrialists celebrating metalworking excellence in design and craftsmanship.

Huge business delegation from different industrial sectors attended Engineer Master Class and Technology Presentations by HEXAGON, INDUSTRIAL ONE and TRUMPF. Industry experts offered a glimpse of the future by presenting ideas and technologies that impact the future of manufacturing.

However, the “Hand soldering competition” which was co-organized by Association Connecting Electronics Industries (IPC) and Reed Tradex to recognize the best skills in hand soldering complex printed board assemblies. Hand soldering of high density printed boards demands highly skilled operators to ensure a zero-defect soldering process. Mr. Nguyen Van Thanh Thuo from Spartronics Vietnam Co., Ltd. has won the trophy along with a certificate and cash prize from the 3-day competition.

This year, the show resulted with a great success with lots of active business talks and exhibitors’ voices that prove their satisfaction for the show.

Mr. Virendra Gupta, Deputy Director General of Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) shared “With government supporting policies and implementing reforms, I believe this is a perfect opportunity for India firms seeking to expand and develop partnerships with potential Vietnamese companies. As a result, we decided to join METALEX Vietnam in order to bring India’s machine tools and metal forming manufacturers closer to local industrialists and expand our customer base in ASEAN.”

Mr. Park Young Tahk, Executive Vice Chairman of Korea Association of Machinery Industry (KOAMI) said that “Vietnam is one of Korea’s important overseas markets for machinery and metalworking solutions. Hence, we decided to bring 12 companies under the Korea Pavilion at METALEX Vietnam in order to raise awareness of Korean technologies, and develop strong yet resilience business relationships with potential customers.”

Mr. Tatsuya Noma, Senior Director, Commerce and Industry Division, Bureau of Industrial and Labor Affairs, Tokyo Metropolitan Government has optimist sharing about the show “METALEX Vietnam is a great opportunity for visitors to get acquainted with the technological capabilities of SMEs in Tokyo. We believe that high quality-products from Tokyo Pavilion can help local Vietnamese companies to grow and also encourage new players to enter the supporting industries.”

Mr. Ronnie Wong, Chief Operating Officer of Association of Electronic Industries (AEIS) shared his opinion that “The electrical and electronics industries in Vietnam are going at a tremendous speed. They are prominently promoted by the Government. Vietnam needs the supporting industries to accelerate the growth. AEIS has bring 25 companies Nepcon Vietnam to support the industries, as well as looking to set up branches and in joint venture with Vietnamese.”

Mr. Alex Ko, Chairman of Taiwan Association of Machinery Industry (TAMI) shared “For the past 70 years, TAMI has always provided the best support to its members in expanding to overseas markets like Vietnam. The improved business environment, pro-growth fiscal policies and free trade agreements, has increased our members’ confidence in seeking investment opportunities in Vietnam. Thus, attending METALEX Vietnam 2016, we can help our members, who are more than ready, to introduce high quality products and build partnerships with local industrialists”

Ms. Paiyada Hanchaisuksakul, Director of Small & Medium Industrial Institute, The Federation of Thai Industries (FTI) shared “Many Thai small and medium-sized enterprises have been actively searching for new markets and opportunities in ASEAN. Vietnam is one of their selected destinations since it offers favorable business policies, and the advantage of FTA. This year also marks up the 40 years diplomatic relations between Thailand – Vietnam, in this regard, the Small & Medium Industrial Institute under The Federation of Thai Industries has leaded 19 companies specializing parts and components manufacturing to join Thailand Pavilion.”

Next year's Metalex Vietnam will open with a splash once more from 4 - 6 October 2017 at the Saigon Exhibition and Convention Center (SECC), helping the industry to create business opportunities. Nepcon Vietnam 2017 will celebrate its 10 years anniversary and back again to Hanoi, held 13 – 15 September 2017 at Hanoi International Center For Exhibiton (I.C.E., Hanoi).
